Relevance of scripts in our lives
Berne says that we are born to live the lives of princes and princesses. Parental programming enforce severe restrictions on our freedoms. Script results. Scripts convert princes and princesses into frogs. Princes and princesses represent a category of people who are winners. Frogs represent a category of people who are losers.
Cure: Script cure means converting a frog into a prince or a princess as the case may be. Script cure means bringing down the screen on an ongoing show and putting up a new show on the road. Script cure is not easy to come by. At the same time it is not impossible. A person with commitment, conviction, matched by discipline, determination and dedication can achieve the change. Script cure is transformational. Transformational means bringing change from within, at the core which results in a new way of perceiving, evaluating, choice making and responding. Transformation also affects thinking, feeling, interactions, doing, performing, responding, experiencing, behaving patterns.

Process of achieving Cure: There are two ways of achieving cure. One way is psychotherapy. The other way is self-help TA Practice. Self-help TA Practice surely helps as a precursor to psychotherapy. It loosens up the system and makes it amenable to change without a back-lash. One needs to remember two things while implementing cure process. One is to make "closing escape hatches an ongoing Adult commitment". The other is NOT to deal with drivers. This is the author's considered view. The drivers provide a peep-hole into how the script cure is working. A loser script person is at his wits end using drivers. They are not there in place to help him out. A winner and non-winner script ridden person momentarily moves through the driver position on the miniscript before journeying through the miniscript sequence and returns to driver to stay free of script ridden-ness. See the updated miniscript diagram below:

The role of drivers is shown in the drowning person's diagram below. This is a diagram generated by Andrienne Lee. Credit TA Dictionary by Tony Tilney  ISBN-13:978 1 86156 022 3 p/b.
