Racketing
(for Racket Feelings  click here and for Other types of Rackets click here)

An exhaustive list of activities we are engaged in is given in the previous blog (click here to see). When a person is engaged in any of these with the intent of manipulating others, and with the objective of drawing their attention, engaging with them in game, or for extracting strokes, it constitutes racketing. When the event ends the person obtains a harvest of his favourite racket feeling, reinforcing his/her esteem, reinforcing his/her view of himself, other/s and quality of life entitlements. All this happens beyond conscious awareness. It is an uphill task to get rid of racketing even when we are aware about its occurrence.

Racketeering
Racketeering is a behaviour or a sequence of behaviours used by racketeers as a way to manipulate others in order to obtain their favoured racket feelings through the mode of strokes.
Fanita English identifies four kinds of racketeering which she classifies under two types. In Type I are included the 'helpless' and 'bratty' types who operate from the Child. The helpless seek comfort strokes and the bratty negative strokes. In Type II are included the 'phony helpful' and 'phony bossy'. These two types operate from their Parent engaging the Child of the other.
