Options
This is a contribution by Stephen Karpman.

Options can be used as means to keep communication going even if a break occurs in them. The options are:
  1. One of the parties changes the structural or functional ego states, or
  2. A new topic is started, and at the same time the old topic is forgotten.
  3. The same topic is started in a new way.
What this means is the party takes a step back, and then proceeds again on new lines. This is somewhat like the thing we do when we run into a traffic jam.

Moving to intimacy at switch helps to restart communication and also forget the rackets collected at crossup in game.
