Structurogram

Structurogram is a pie diagram. It maps the time one spends during waking hours in various components of time structuring namely withdrawal, rituals, activity, pastimes, games and intimacy. It proves useful to one who wants to bring change. It is also useful to gain conscious awareness in this matter. A diagrammatic representation is given in figure 27.

Figure 27

~~~~~
It is evident from the contents of the figure that the person spends a lot of time in withdrawal. We have seen that withdrawal can be both positive as well as negative. Given that the person is also spending substantial amount of time in activities it may be safely assumed that much of the time during withdrawal may be spent for activities related to thinking, reflecting and planning. The person is engaging in pastimes and games. This is interesting. It goes to suggest that the part of time spent in withdrawal may be spent by the person in racketing. It is heartening to see that the person does spend time in intimacy. It goes to suggest that the person is straight forward in expressing his views, thoughts, opinions and feelings. The person needs to think about achieving change in some of the areas per his choice and need. For that he needs to assume responsibility and generate a long term commitment by initially working on positive ego states.
