Introduction
A unit of an interaction is a transaction. It comprises a transactional stimulus and a related transactional response. Transactional means something is exchanged in transacting. The commodity exchanged is strokes. Transactions are vectors because they start and end in ego states. Stroking aids recognition and transaction aids communication. Transaction is defined as a unit of social intercourse. Transacting aids meeting recognition hunger needs. It is also a unit of social action. It is evidenced by the fact that it is only a matter of time that two individuals, who are close by will sooner or later release some signal to acknowledge the presence of the other.
An interaction qualifies to be termed a transaction if it satisfies these conditions: 1) That it takes place between ego states; 2) It carries a communication; 3) It carries a stroke or aids recognition; 4) It is impacting or touching the other;
Special types of transactions occur internally as monologues, dialogues, and triologues between ego states. They also occur as rattling mind talk.
